Content of therapy

People come to therapy for wildly different reasons. Some are in transitional moments in life, some are going through a major loss or illness, some people feel a vague sense of numbness, others are having difficulty in their intimate relationships. Therapy covers many terrains.

What happens in any given session is a spontaneous emergence. The way that I am in the therapy space is focused on listening to the whole person I’m with. What is being said, with words, as well as the body, and what’s happening between us.

I draw from gestalt therapy, somatic and existential psychotherapy, and psychodynamic understandings.

I enjoy working with dreams and embodied experiencing, to contact parts of the self which are harder to access.

I work from a small mudbrick cottage (10 mins from Daylesford) which is on a bushy property and allows access to sessions outside if this feels right. Engaging with the natural world as part of therapy can help to bring a sense of our wider belonging in the web of life.

My perception of any client is always informed by our embeddedness in nature and the systems which govern us.
